The Butterfly Affect Fundraiser | July 1 – August 24

This summer, The Butterfly Affect is launching a powerful fundraiser to support Newark high school students and you can be part of it.

Starting July 1, we’re collecting gently used clothes, shoes, household items, and books to help fund a completely free, 5-session college and career readiness program for local students. Instead of writing a check, you can sponsor a student by donating everyday items you no longer need.

How It Works:

Each student sponsorship can be covered through donated goods:

• 20 bags of clothes = 1 student

• 15 boxes of shoes = 1 student

• 10 boxes of household items = 1 student

• 5 boxes of books = 1 student

Our goal is to raise the equivalent of $2,000 in donated items which enough to launch a full, 5-session cohort in Newark that delivers a holistic college and career readiness curriculum.

• Prepare for college or a career after graduation

• Build self-advocacy, research, and real-world decision-making skills

• Learn how to navigate financial aid, campus resources, and career options
