Mission

The Butterfly Affect is dedicated to preparing Newark high school students for successful college journeys. Through a holistic, hands-on curriculum and cohort-based model, we aim to guide students from high school into higher education with the tools, confidence, and knowledge they need to thrive.

Year 1 Goals

• Launch a pilot program with 20–25 students in 2–3 Newark high schools

• Develop and deliver a student-centered curriculum focused on real-world college readiness

• Establish strategic partnerships with schools, colleges, and community organizations

• Build a network of supporters and raise community awareness

• Collect measurable data to evaluate impact

• Secure sustainable funding for future growth

Impact Targets

• 25 high school students complete the pilot program

• 70% or more report increased college confidence and readiness

• 3+ active school and community partnerships

• $50,000 or more secured for Year 2 expansion

• 1 community showcase event hosted to celebrate student success
